Kangerong Holiday Park

The pool was right outside our Deluxe Villa, and the beach was just across the road. There was plenty nearby on foot, including cafes, pizza and ice cream shops. Our four-year-old stayed busy with the trampolines, sandpit, cricket pitch and pool. The couple minding the place while the owners were away were lovely, and everything was clean and tidy. We had everything we needed and a wonderful four-night stay. The sandpit was great, though its spot by the park entrance meant cars drove right past it, which felt unsafe for kids who aren’t road savvy. The queen bed was very comfortable, but the bunk bed frames were bent and lacked support in the middle, so they leaned. Probably fine for little ones, but not adults. I mentioned it to the park minders to pass on to the owners. We’d definitely come back.

Birdsong in the trees and a choice of shady or sunny sites made for a lovely stay. It’s a peaceful spot close to everything, and the helpful reception staff knew the local sights. The amenities are old, but clean and looked after. One van was playing loud music for the surrounding sites. I appreciated that the manager asked them to turn it down when requested. A good place for Grey Nomads and families.

The beach is right across the road, and the location is amazing. That was the one bright spot. The powered sites are dirt patches that turn muddy, and the amenities near them were constantly dirty, despite the claim they’d be cleaned three times a day. The park manager was extremely rude, almost abusive. Such a letdown for what could have been a wonderful family holiday.

The cottages were among the best we’ve stayed in. Ours was modern and roomy, with a full kitchen and TVs in both the lounge and bedroom. The park is small and lovely and quiet, with no road noise. The beach and walking track are just across the road, and shops are a short walk away. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We couldn’t ask for more, and we’ll return.
