Nightcap at Coolaroo Hotel

We arrived late, and walking into the casino was quite an impression. I was tempted to put a coin in a machine, but exhaustion won over the chance of a big win. The place had a lovely feel, and the manager greeted me with a handshake. Great room, and I'll definitely come back. Thanks for the service.

I usually choose Nightcap because the stays are consistent, and I expect a good rest and a decent shower. Coolaroo was not like that. There were a few stray hairs, which I didn't question at first, but then I found dirt marks on the towels. As I picked up my room card to go ask for fresh towels and shower items, I noticed the coffee mugs were used too. I waited ten minutes at the desk for someone to come out. When he did, he didn't seem surprised. He swapped the towels and mugs and gave a monotone “sorry about that,” but the whole thing was a letdown. I paid $180 because I was tired and didn't want to drive a big truck back across the city. The bed wasn't even a king, just two long single bases and mattresses under one sheet. I should've had another coffee and pushed through the fatigue to get home.

We had a meal in the bistro and the portions were really good for the price. The staff there were friendly, as were the people who greeted us when we arrived in the evening. We got a drink voucher, and our clean, comfortable room came with a complimentary breakfast pack each, containing cereal, milk, juice and a muesli bite, plus a cold bottle of water each and the usual tea and coffee. The rooms felt secure, and we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend, and we'd come back.

I arrived late after work, and the friendly staff gave me a complimentary drink card and 10% off a meal. The room was small but had everything I needed. The shower was amazing and the bed super comfortable. I'd definitely stay again.
