Oros Plus Hotel

I spent a week here on business. The room was clean, roomy and had a great view, and the staff were very friendly. The location was handy, with KFC, Hungry Jack, Subway and several petrol stations nearby, plus a few pubs right next door. Parking was easy, and Jamie had no trouble parking our car.

The cleanliness claims are a joke. The plates and cutlery were dirty, the couches stained, and there were grubby fingerprints on the glass door and handprints on the walls. The rooms are disgraceful. I’ve stayed about three times, checking in in the early hours, and they accepted cash deposits each time. On the last visit they returned fake fifty dollar notes as our cash deposit. When we rang to complain, we were told the manager would contact us, but nobody ever did. The owner later sent a lousy email denying any solution or explanation and saying they don’t accept cash deposits, even though every time we stayed we paid one in cash. This is a rip-off, and it’s not a luxury experience at all. If you want to catch something, stay there.

After a long dispute, I was eventually allowed to stay, but the room was a significant downgrade from what had been promised. By then I felt neither safe nor welcome. I spent over an hour arguing about a reservation that already existed, then another 45 minutes trying to get answers from the receptionist who had originally made it. He was disgusted by the afternoon shift receptionist’s behaviour too. The first receptionist had confirmed my booking and its check-in and check-out terms, and the hotel sent me a confirmation with a PIN. When I came back to check in, KUSHAN repeatedly denied there was a booking, despite my written confirmation and rooms appearing available online. He was aggressive and dismissive, spoke down to me in front of other guests, and kept threatening to cancel my reservation while I calmly tried to explain. He also threatened to involve the police without justification. During the exchange, he shared confidential information about my previous stays, including an inappropriate comment about a former guest. I was told without warning that I had supposedly been “blacklisted,” though nobody had told me this before and I was allowed to stay after showing ID. The reasons given for refusing accommodation changed several times over the course of the dispute. I was told to take the matter to management, but also that nothing would be done unless I wrote a review. This was a deeply distressing and unprofessional experience involving intimidation, a breach of privacy, misleading conduct, and poor complaint handling. I would not recommend this property. Management urgently needs to review staff conduct and privacy and complaint procedures.

The bed was clean, and the staff were good enough to move us to another room, which is why I haven’t given this one star. Otherwise, the cleanliness was poor. The TV didn’t work as other reviews mention, the fridge wasn’t cold, and the shower screen didn’t line up properly, making it a hazard. A room facing the main road is too noisy to sleep in, and the people in the room next door seemed to be coming and going every ten minutes. It’s cheap, but you get what you pay for.
