Oscar’s On The Yarra

Christine and her mum Catherine were lovely hosts, and I’d happily recommend Oscars for a stay. The guesthouse is modern and well appointed, with several lounge spaces and a great hearty breakfast with barista coffee. It sits back from the main road beside the Yarra river, and is close to Warburton township and local sights.

The only problem was having to leave. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope to come back to Oscar’s soon. Christine and her team made it a wonderful holiday, and we really appreciated their tips for nearby attractions and restaurants. The building is beautiful, surrounded by century-old oaks. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and looked out over the river. It was very peaceful, with only the gentle sound of the Yarra river in the garden. The location made it easy to get around to the area’s many attractions.

I meant to stay one night and ended up booking a second while I was there. I’m already arranging another visit in a few weeks. The staff were the highlight, such welcoming and wonderful people, and as a solo traveller I felt safe and at ease. My room at "Oscar's" was fresh and very clean, with beautiful views. The location was just right, and the river made for a peaceful place to unwind. I loved the breakfast and the atmosphere. The stay exceeded my expectations.

Breakfast was homemade in style, fresh, and generous, and the service throughout was warm and easygoing. There’s plenty of uncovered parking, and the hallways have handy self-serve coffee, milk, tea, and sweeteners. The hotel feels charming and family-friendly, with spacious, clean, comfortable rooms. Some open directly onto the rear gardens, where a lovely river adds to the quiet atmosphere. There are also several spots around the property to relax. Its central location works well for visiting nearby wineries and great restaurants. A beautiful experience, highly recommended.
