The staff were so friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was exceptional, and the lovely food came with a smile. There’s plenty of transport right outside, and the location is excellent. Lygon Street and the markets are easy to get to, and the city is about 20 minutes away by tram. The zoo is just around the corner for kids. There are parks and tennis courts nearby, and a medical centre across from an Irish pub.

I’ve never had a worse experience anywhere. I stayed one night with six friends aged 18 to 21. When we first called, the receptionist spoke down to us and was very rude. Everyone noticed. The owners said they’d keep an eye on us, which was fair enough, but when we arrived they banged on the balcony flywire and shouted that they’d “call the police” and “charge momma’s credit card.” We were stunned and had no idea what was going on. When we came back, they yelled, “you better run for your lives.” I’m shocked they threatened our lives, and feel so sorry for my friends, who “just wanted to go home.” I’ll tell people not to even consider staying here. I hope this is the last time I ever go through something like this. I want my money back.

A cheerful, inexpensive stay, with the tram right outside.
