The place and view were spectacular, but the steaks were a letdown. All of us ordered Scotch Fillet, which I think cost about $65 each. They were tough, and I couldn't eat mine. For what we paid, we expected high quality steaks. I don't like leaving a bad review, but spending over $500 for a night out for four people and being disappointed didn't feel fair. We would've been better off staying home and having a BBQ.

Renting the whole Portsea Hotel for our wedding was the right choice, and the night was exceptional. Events manager Hannah was an AMAZING help, and the staff were attentive and dedicated. There were plenty of people working, and the food was great. We'd highly recommend it.

We tried several dishes at the Portsea Hotel and loved them. The vego pizzas were a hit with everyone, especially the bases, and the vegan burger came with very good chips. The Burrata with peaches and chilli was a highlight, and the wedge lettuce salad with green goddess dressing was delicious. It was bustling when we visited on New Year's Day. They weren't taking table bookings in Dec/Jan, but we found a nice table without trouble. If one hadn't been free, we wouldn't have had to wait long. We'd heard good things and weren't disappointed. Recommended when you're in Portsea.

The deck and lawn are beautiful, and the relaxed vibe makes this my favourite waterside pub in Australia. The pizza is brilliant, and the whole menu is just what you want from a pub, done really well. It's consistently good, and the staff are nice.

A group of six of us had a casual lunch in the beer garden over Easter. The service was friendly, and the pub classics were great. The cheeseburgers were the standout, while the parmas and pizza went down well too. I've lived in Melbourne for nearly 70 years and can't believe I'd never been here before. Excellent.
