Quest Watergardens

The lift noise made it hard to rest. I’d asked a week before arriving for a room away from the lift, but got the closest room to it. I could hear people waiting and talking, plus the lift’s constant “ding” day and night. There was almost no soundproofing either, so the movie in the next room sounded like it was playing in mine. One lift also smelled unpleasant, and I’m almost certain someone had urinated there. The problems began before check-in. On the Wednesday before my arrival, reception called repeatedly while I was in a work meeting. I declined several times, but they kept calling until I answered. There was no greeting or introduction, just an abrupt demand that I “must check in before 9 pm”, then the caller hung up without saying goodbye. It felt intrusive and very unprofessional. When I asked to move rooms, reception refused, saying the hotel was fully booked and “the manager allocates the rooms”. They took no responsibility for fixing it or escalating the matter. The stay fell far below expectations. Management should improve communication, attention to guest requests, soundproofing and upkeep of shared spaces. It wasn’t satisfactory.

The front desk team were the best part of our stay. They were friendly, welcoming and professional the whole time, and their warm manner made us feel valued. It’s rare to find staff who are so consistently helpful, and we really appreciated how they went above and beyond. They lifted the whole experience.

We travelled from interstate for a function, and the Quest was perfectly located. The rooms were spacious, parking was easy to access and the beds were comfortable. An excellent stay for everyone.

The rooms were fantastic and spacious, and the staff were great and friendly. There’s no food service at the hotel apart from tea and coffee, but shops are close by for supplies to use in the room.
