The location is good, but the apartment is just outside the free tram area, so get off one stop before. I rented it through Airbnb, so this isn’t about the people who own or manage the building. I’m posting because people need a warning. This apartment was FILTHY, and the photos don’t capture how bad it was. At first it seemed cool, with a pretty view and what looked like everything we needed. It was late and dark when we arrived. By morning I had a massive allergy attack. Under the bed was a dust mite nightmare, and when I looked around in daylight, it was horrendous. Behind the toilets looked untouched, most things in the cupboards had been put away dirty, and the main couch needs to be burned. At least the sheets and pillowcases were clean. We had nowhere else to go, so stayed and took antihistamines. We paid 600and something for four nights, not cheap accommodation where you’d expect a risk of covid or hepatitis. We did everything we were supposed to before leaving for the country, then later they tried to charge us for keys that WERE NOT SUPPLIED. They sent photos supposedly from the “cleaners”, but it was obvious the cleaners hadn’t been there in any meaningful way for some time. The back and forth felt endless. My amazing phone kept trying to fix the photos, so they don’t show the true horror. This seems to be a trend in Melbourne presently. What’s happened to our beloved, most livable and visitable city?
