I lived here while studying abroad in March 2020, and I’d warn others against staying here. The management was the biggest problem. Both day and night staff were extremely cold and unhelpful. Once, there was a mouse in my room. The night manager told me to deal with it and wait until morning. Even after treatment didn’t fix the mice problem, I had to pay a fee to change rooms. I also had to return home because of the global pandemic, but got back less than 25% of my money despite having stayed for only 20% of the expected time. They then charged me for cleaning issues and held onto every penny they could, unnecessarily. There were plenty of other times the staff seemed incredibly mismanaged, too. For the price, there aren’t many amenities, and lots of other places are available.

I’m jealous that gai Wong is in the same building.

The facilities are decent for what you pay, and I managed to get by during my six months here while steering clear of the party scene. Still, the rooms are small, and music blaring through the window at midnight makes it hard to study. The shower was the worst I’ve ever used: it switched between cold and hot so quickly I barely had time to jump out.

Handy central spot, and a globally prestigious name.

It’s a good place to meet people and start your first year at uni, but it doesn’t work well as a functional home. The rooms are tiny, the laundry costs an arm and a leg, and appliances are only usually functional. There have been fires and flooding, plus 4am evacuations because the fire alarms seem out to get you. Maintenance damages walls, then leaves repairs optional unless you ask to have the big holes filled.
