Sanctuary House Healesville Motel

There’s lots of room to unwind on the well-kept grounds at Sanctuary House Motel Resort, with greenery all around and lovely garden views from many rooms. It feels peaceful and private, yet is conveniently close to Healesville town centre, wineries, and the Healesville Sanctuary. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained, with comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and helpful with local recommendations or special requests, and parking is easy. The layout makes it feel more like a retreat than a standard motel. It’s a comfortable, serene place and good value for money for a quiet Yarra Valley getaway, whether you’re a couple, family, or just after a restful stay.

I’m visiting Australia from the UK, and the peaceful setting made it easy to relax after travelling. My room at Sanctuary House Resort Motel was immaculately clean, spacious, and comfortable, with all the amenities I could ask for. The bed was especially cosy after a long day on the road. Staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, and made me feel at ease from the moment I arrived. The on-site restaurant had a great range of freshly prepared dishes, and I really enjoyed the food and relaxed, home-away-from-home atmosphere. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and service was faultless throughout. The location was quiet and scenic, yet only a short drive from Healesville Sanctuary and the beautiful Yarra Valley. Free WiFi, ample parking, and the lovely outdoor pool added to the comfort. The staff clearly take pride in looking after guests and paying attention to details. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to people visiting the area, from overseas or locally. I’ll definitely return on my next trip to Australia.

The location is great, but the family unit was run down. The shower barely worked, everything squeaked, and there was rubbish in the couches. The pool was adequate, though freezing cold. The games room had no equipment, the on-site restaurant and bar were always closed, and even the brochure shelf was years out of date. The sign says 4.5 stars, but I wouldn’t rate it above 3.

The cleaners did a great job, and the room was very clean and tidy. Thanks as well to the tall Australian guy who helped carry our bags to the room. He was helpful and well mannered, and having people like him there will keep guests coming back. The place is in a nice spot, but it looks so run down. My friend’s family was in one room where the A/C was like a waterfall. They called the Indian guy, who said he wasn’t there and couldn’t do anything. In my room, water was leaking through the roof. It clearly hadn’t been fixed in a long time, with black mould and paint falling off the ceiling. The Indian guy was so rude and arrogant and needs to work on how he talks to people. He just didn’t care. Check their Facebook, it’s false advertising. This is the real games room and playground.
