Shells Apartments

The apartment has a spacious layout, a lovely luxury bathroom and was clean throughout. There was even a BBQ on the front balcony with a nice deck, and the price was great for a night away or a holiday. The staff have been friendly, polite and very kind to us. We're staying here tonight and already plan to return with the children. Thanks again 🙂

Getting in touch with the property was difficult. I asked several times for a tax invoice and was told one would be issued, but I'm still chasing it almost 28 days later. The room also wasn't ready on check-in day because they apparently thought we were arriving the next day. I had to call to follow up, since the check-in message never came through. It's been a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The location was fantastic, but the place wasn't up to the standard I expected for the price. An unused adjoining room had been left open and could be accessed through our bathroom. Its beds looked recently slept in and hadn't been made, and the previous guests' wet towels were still on a bed. That left the apartment feeling unclean. The coffee machine still had dirty used pods inside and hadn't been flushed with hot water. There was also sticky liquid, maybe alcohol or coffee, splashed up the living room lamp. Gross. The living room front door handle was hanging by its screws and looked about to fall off.

The position was the one good thing about this apartment. Parking was a nightmare, with barely any room and skips and rubbish greeting us. We had to carry luggage up stairs to a spacious but dirty room. There were wine stains on the walls, dirty blind fittings, stained carpets and lounges, and a greasy rangehood. It looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in months. The shower spa felt dangerous because of its large step. There was no internet, and cameras pointed at us even when we tried to sit on the verandah overlooking the street with a drink. There were no staff around and the office was locked, so we couldn't get fresh linen. We had only one towel each for two days. Then, the week before, they called asking for payment. Two words: don't bother.
