On my first trip to Melbourne, the CBD location made it easy to walk to restaurants and attractions. The breakfast had plenty of choice, though some dishes were tasty and others only okay. The room was clean but felt dated, and the bathroom needs an upgrade. Having the shower in a narrow bathtub made it cramped and uncomfortable. Service varied. Dean at the concierge desk was especially attentive and supportive, and gave us great restaurant suggestions. The Club Lounge was harder to enjoy over the weekend because it was crowded and guest time was limited. When we went at 6 PM, I was told my first session was only 30 minutes, which felt far too rushed.

The room was spacious after we received a free upgrade, and the bathroom had plenty of space too, with a separate bath and shower. From our corner room we had lovely views of the stadium, river, and Southbank area. We liked being able to walk to the CBD while staying just outside its busiest part. The area wasn't too crowded or noisy, which suited us. Inside, the lobby had a chic Parisian vintage feel. We arrived much earlier than expected, knowing the usual Australian check-in policy, but Rodrigo at reception surprised us by saying our room was already ready. That meant we could drop our luggage and start exploring. The email communication before arrival also felt professional, especially the way they acknowledged our requests. We loved our weekend away.

I was there for work at an IT conference in the Grand Ballroom and the Sofi Lounge, not as an overnight guest. The place felt very fancy, the facilities were classy, and the catering was creative. If I ever win the lottery, I'd stay the night.
