Avoid this place right now. Construction just metres away will wake you at 7:15 sharp, whether you like it or not. There’s drilling and hammering inside the hotel too. The staff also weren’t flexible about requests that seemed very reasonable to me. If the hotel responds, arrangements with third-party booking sites shouldn’t stop them from finding solutions for customers, especially when the requests are reasonable.
Good luck. The hotel’s wifi was so restricted that, as the assistant manager told me on day five, only local sites weren’t blocked. Everything else was blocked. I had to go to McDonalds to book an airline ticket. After two days I wanted to leave because I needed wifi, but the manager refused to refund my remaining nights. That felt unethical. When I asked for the manager, the assistant manager started yelling that I shouldn’t complain. I yelled back, walked away from the desk, and he came around from behind it and threatened me. For the manager reading this, it was 2pm on Monday, so check the camera. There was no maid service during the week I stayed either. I had to ask for it on day five. I’d rather sleep on the street.
It was our wedding night, and the shower water was completely cold. The TV didn’t work, and the spa tap wasn’t working properly and only gave cold water. When we raised this during our stay and at checkout, the staff were so rude. I followed up with staff the next day, on the 27/10, to try to sort it out. They were confrontational, wouldn’t let me speak, and yelled at me on the phone. There was no empathy or care at all. A horrible experience.
The front desk staff were friendly, but the bathroom was unclean, the TV didn’t work properly, and the rooms weren’t serviced. Renovations outside the window were disruptive, and I think guests should be told about them when booking. The small fridge also wasn’t keeping things at the right temperature.
Checking in was easy, the receptionist was friendly, and the price was good. That’s about all I can say in its favour. The “Superior Queen Room” looks nothing like the photos on the hotel’s own website, and loud construction downstairs in the hotel kept waking me up. The room wasn’t very clean either: dirty shower grout, a gross-looking shower head, dust all over the bathroom painting, dirty bathroom walls and grime under the AC. There was a thick layer of dust on top of the wardrobe too. Some things were outside the hotel’s control, like noisy guests talking by the elevator right outside my room. But while I was trying to sleep, someone tried to connect their phone to the TV in my room using AirPlay and somehow turned the TV on remotely. So far, it’s been an uncomfortable stay, and I’m not looking forward to the rest of it.
