Stamford Plaza Melbourne

The location is hard to beat if you’re in town for shopping or a show. Rooms are much bigger than a typical hotel room, the beds are very comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. The service was five-star quality and it felt like good value for such a central spot. The decor is starting to look dated and could use a refresh, but I’d stay again.

We had a comfortable room on the 8th floor and breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from. The view was a bit dark, though, since another tall building was only metres from our window. The location is ideal for exploring fabulous Melbourne.

Our family had a relaxing, enjoyable stay at Stamford Plaza Melbourne. The staff were professional, polite and helpful whenever we needed anything, and the location made getting around easy, with public transport, restaurants and shops nearby. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable for us with children. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool and spa, both clean and warm, and very family-friendly. The kids loved it. We’re very happy with our stay, would recommend the hotel to families and will definitely return.

The location is fabulous, but the apartment itself felt pretty mediocre. It wasn’t terrible, just tired and full of small frustrations. The bed was okay but a bit soft, the sofa was too soft and sagged at the back, and the furniture wasn’t very comfortable. There was a rough wooden repair panel in the kitchen, chipped plates including room service ones, and no dishcloth or brush. The kitchen tap was so short it seemed meant for a hand basin. The bath was stained, and the old bath shower felt a bit dangerous. The air conditioner barely kept up during the day, even though it wasn’t hot weather, then finally cooled things down at 2am. One day they forgot to service the room, then rushed in a panic but missed the kitchen and left us a hand towel to use as a bathmat.
