The Sanctuary at Alba

The care from every staff member really stood out. You can feel the love and intention in each interaction, and the stay itself was something special. We’ve never stayed anywhere quite like this on the Peninsula; it brought to mind Australia’s luxury lodges. We had an incredible time and will be back. Thank you.

Alba springs and spas were 5/5, but the rooms were 2/5 and the food was 1/5. The room also had poor soundproofing, so we could hear the TV and people talking next door. It’s a long uphill walk from Alba. They offer a golf cart type ride to the rooms, but it isn’t very convenient. Check-in was confusing: I was sent to Alba’s entrance and told to self check in, with no instructions. In the bathroom there was nowhere to put toiletries and no electrical outlet, which made it hard for my partner to do their hair. It was basically a fully accessible bathroom, which is fine, but we expected more for nearly a thousand dollars a night. There was only one roll of toilet paper and the room iPad didn’t work. We wouldn’t stay again.

The staff made me feel welcome and looked after, while still giving me room to relax. Every part of the property was spotless and well kept, with thoughtful details that felt luxurious without being pretentious. The food was another highlight, fresh and delicious, with plenty of options for different tastes and dietary needs. I loved exploring the many thermal pools and baths, each with its own feel. The peaceful, beautifully designed surroundings made it easy to switch off. Alba Thermal Springs & Spa is a special blend of wellness, comfort and luxury. I left refreshed and already keen to return.
