The apartment was modern, quiet and pleasant, and the people were friendly, but it needed a much deeper clean. In the living room there was a strong foul smell that seemed to be coming from the rug. It smelled as if an animal, possibly a dog or cat, had urinated on it and it hadn’t been cleaned. White pet hair on the carpet also made it clear an animal had been there. I told the staff, and all they said was, “Thanks for letting us know, we’ll have it cleaned after you check out.” I’m concerned this wasn’t cleaned properly before we arrived. The smell was obvious and unpleasant, and they should have told us, since my children or I could have allergies. The foyer scent spray was also so strong it made us feel dizzy when we walked through. Better communication about pets and cleaning standards was needed.

We’d definitely stay here again. It was our first time, with my family, in Melbourne, and we had a spacious, very modern and comfortable three bedroom apartment. The bedrooms were a good size with lots of storage, and the full size kitchen had everything needed to eat in. Public transport and a wide choice of restaurants were within walking distance.

The main drawback was that the air con was only in the living area, not the bedrooms. Otherwise, it was clean, modern and comfortable, with essentials like soap and cleaning supplies provided. The tram stop is very close, and the train station is about an 8 minute walk away.

I was satisfied with the room and location overall, but disappointed to be charged a $120 fine after spending thousands on my stay. My colleague had overstayed only until 12.
