Over my extended stay, the whole team did far more than I expected to make each day welcoming and comfortable, and to make the place feel like home. Offering hospitality is easy; delivering it consistently at a high level is hard, and this team exceeded my already high expectations. Tania deserves a special thank you. Her professionalism, dedication, calm manner, kindness and work ethic stood out. She handled every situation with care, intelligence and real commitment to the guests’ experience. I was also impressed by how often she stepped in to solve problems beyond what most people would expect of someone in her role. Someone this dedicated should have proper staff support, rather than having to handle operational issues herself. People like Tania are the backbone of places like this, and she deserves recognition and appreciation. A raise would be well deserved. Tania, thank you for your patience and kindness, and for always making me feel welcome. People remember how you made them feel, and your warmth made this stay memorable beyond the hospitality itself. Zagame's felt like a home away from home. We slept really well thanks to the extremely comfortable bed and pillows, and secure parking made the stay especially convenient. The room was beautifully appointed and came at a very reasonable price. Staff at reception were highly professional and greeted us warmly. The location is ideal: a short trip south to the heart of Melbourne's CBD and just north of all the Carlton eateries. Our room was very quiet.

We came down from rural Victoria for my husband’s Christmas work event and wanted somewhere close by so we wouldn’t spend ages travelling. Zagame's House was a great choice. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had all the little things you hope a hotel has. Everyone we met was kind and helpful, and we enjoyed the fresh breakfast before checking out the next morning. At checkout, we had a lovely chat with one of the owners and heard about the history of the business and the passion behind it. The people really make this place feel special. We felt cared for, and every cent was worth it. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for treating us like we mattered. Pete and Lana xo

The superior king was such a comfortable place to come back to, with lovely bedding and pillows that made it feel like home. Housekeeping was great, and reception were friendly and helpful. We got there early, but they texted as soon as the room was ready. I loved the hotel and slept in one of the comfiest beds I’ve had. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was generous and delicious, with the same attentive service we found throughout the hotel. The whole place has a stylish, welcoming feel, and the amenities were excellent. Tania and Mohir (sp?) deserve a special mention for making us feel so welcome, though everyone we dealt with was warm, professional, and quick to help, from reception to breakfast and the Lord Lygon restaurant and wine bar. Our room was spotless, modern, roomy, and thoughtfully laid out. Zagame’s House is also in a terrific spot, right by the Lygon Street dining precinct and close to the free tram and central attractions. Every part of the stay exceeded our expectations. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.
