Dolphins Motel

We stayed in the three-bedroom apartment at Dolphins Motel and were blown away by the beautiful fit-out. The transformation over the past year is incredible. Every detail has been considered, from the quality finishes and comfortable beds to the wood-burning fireplace. The washing machine made longer stays easier, and daily servicing was a real bonus. It's ideal for a relaxing family holiday on the coast. The beach is a fantastic three-minute walk away. We were pleasantly surprised that the water was still warm in late April. There's plenty to do nearby, including golf, wine tasting at a local vineyard, coastal walks and great food. Paul and Brenden on the Dolphins management team were so welcoming. Paul was very responsive and couldn't do enough for us. We were among the first guests after reopening, and you can see how much care went into the place. We can't wait to return.

Dolphins Motel is a great road trip or holiday stop. The rooms bring back the 1950s Palm Springs and Las Vegas era, with a Ron Burgundy feel and lamps you'll love. Beds are made for snoozing, and the clean bathrooms feel like home. There's an outdoor gym, a kids playground and a beautiful beach just around the corner. Nearby Thai food is amazing, the in-house bar has great offerings, and shops are a 2-5 minute drive away. There's also a pool for sunbathing and showing off a bit. The helpful staff have great local tips. It's a lovely spot for cute photos and good memories. Support this amazing local business. A little tribute to my stay: On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair, a warm smell of colitas rising through the air. Far up ahead, a shimmering light. My head grew heavy, my sight grew dim, I had to stop for the night. Welcome to the Dolphins Motel, such a lovely place, such a lovely face. The beds were so lush and comfortable that it was hard to leave. This retro motel in Mollymook has gorgeous designer interiors, blending vintage charm with modern luxury, and every detail feels thoughtfully done. The beach is just a short stroll away. A stylish, relaxing stay that felt special without trying too hard. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend it for a chic coastal getaway.

The pet-friendly room felt welcoming and thoughtfully set up for travelling with a dog, not like an afterthought. Dolphins is a great base, a block back from a spectacular bay and gorgeous beach. The rooms have just had a tasteful, stylish revamp and feel a big step up from a standard motel, with a relaxed feel from check-in. We first came to Mollymook for Rick Stein’s restaurant, but we'll return for the community itself. Paul was an attentive, genuinely kind host who cares about the town and making guests' stays memorable. He's a newer local, about 15 years or so, and had plenty of knowledge and tips. Highly recommend for a weekend away or longer.
