Paul and Libby were wonderful hosts, and Paul’s breakfasts were a highlight. His omelettes were the best we’ve ever had. My wife Leonie and I loved our weekend at The Ridge Retreat. The property is stunning, with spacious, stylish rooms opening right onto the terrace, which overlooks the pool and beautifully landscaped gardens. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely come back. Ian and Leonie.

Paul and Libby made us feel so welcome, and their care for what guests prefer at breakfast was outstanding. The meal itself was excellent. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well appointed, with its own courtyard that felt like a little haven. Though the place was fully booked, we only occasionally heard vague movement and mostly felt as if we had it to ourselves. The information was comprehensive, and the COVID safety details were well documented and put into practice with plenty of measures. The Retreat is purpose-built as a Bed and Breakfast, and we loved staying there. After a year full of disasters and upheaval, it felt like a safe, welcoming haven. We’d love to return.

We stayed in February and had good weather for the beach. The hosts were lovely, the location was convenient, the house and food were great, and the pool was lovely. We even met some Kookaburras. But we lost some of the serenity we’d planned and paid for. Roadworks about 100m away started early in the morning. I understand that wasn’t the owners’ fault, but the cost didn’t reflect it. The bigger issue was checkout day. Checkout was at 10.30, but at 9am, while I was in the room looking out into the yard after breakfast, garden machinery started up. Then a gardener appeared outside our door, and I had to duck behind the bed because I wasn’t fully dressed. The balcony was private. I’m not sure why gardening couldn’t wait until 10.30, after guests had left, so we could enjoy the quiet we’d planned for.

Libby and Paul welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived, and the attention to detail throughout was awesome. The beds were divine, and we travel a lot. Breakfast overlooking the garden and the view beyond was beautiful, with the kookaburra guests providing friendly, entertaining company. We’ll be back for our anniversary next year. Thanks for the bubbles! We’d totally recommend Ridge Retreat.

A truly memorable B&B on the NSW South Coast, with friendly hosts, great food, and relaxing surroundings. Paul and Libby gave us a blissfully warm welcome for our April weekend and showed us around our clean, spacious, well appointed ‘Eucalyptus’ bedroom, which looks onto neat gardens edged by bush land. Native birdsong woke us each morning, and breakfast tables were set outside our rooms on the sun soaked verandah. There are various cold options, followed by Paul’s signature breakfasts. Do yourself a favour and order the omelette. Let Paul make his recommendations, and you won’t be disappointed. The mushrooms are perfect alongside the eggs.
