I messed up my booking, but the team on site went way beyond what I expected to sort it out. The room was amazing, and my wife had the best birthday ever. Thanks, I’ll be back for sure.

We watched whales from the balcony every day, and the BBQ area, pool and spa were all great. The location is incredible, right among the shops and restaurants and across the road from the beach. Our standard two-bedroom apartment was clean, a good size and better than we expected. We’d stay again.

The best parts were the view, the roomy balcony with its big table and chairs, and the location, which made it easy to walk anywhere in minutes. Staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable though they were two singles pushed together, and the extra lounge area with a TV was a cool idea. I appreciated the tea and coffee station, plus the balloons and handwritten card for my daughter’s birthday. The bathrooms looked nice, but neither had storage. The rooftop spa was pleasant, and there was a BBQ area up there, though the furniture needs replacing. We were also told in the reply that the problems had been dealt with for the next family, and we’d be happy to try another apartment in future. We spent the weekend in Penthouse Apt 1003 on level 10. The apartment itself was nice and an okay size, but the layout felt odd. I’d asked for a more renovated place. This one was nicely decorated, but the bathrooms hadn’t been newly renovated. Appliances were old, the cutlery was dirty, and there was only one pan and little else for a longer stay. Storage was scarce, there were no pegs for the line or mats to wipe our feet, and there were no windows or screen doors, only glass doors. Dead squashed bugs were stuck on every blind when rolled down. The air conditioning kept switching itself off. The main bathroom shower was tiny and oddly shaped, so there was barely room to move. The ensuite had a spa bath, but no steps to get in and out safely, and its see-through glass door gave no privacy. The stool by the rooftop spa felt unsafe because the furniture was broken. Foxtel and Netflix didn’t work because the Wi-Fi was down the whole time. Cockroaches made the stay pretty horrible. There seemed to be a large nest under the kitchen dishwasher, and we were constantly killing big ones in the kitchen and lounge, with smaller ones around the kitchen bench at night. The air conditioning also leaked in both the lounge and ensuite bedroom. The lounge leak was behind the TV, where the plugs are, which seemed dangerous. I told staff and hope they address both problems. We killed about eight roaches in less than 48 hours, and for what we paid for the weekend we shouldn’t have had to deal with them throughout our stay. The apartment needs a thorough clean and touch-ups, new cutlery and more cookware. Each apartment is individually owned, so this won’t keep us from returning, but we won’t stay in this one again.

The room and location are hard to beat. Step out to the Esplanade, cross the road and you’re at the beach. Service was good, and I have no complaints overall. A few basics would’ve helped, like a couple of boxes of tissues, soap or hand wash, and a sieve in the kitchen. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Mooloolaba.
