The shower floor had mould along it, and the mattress looked like it had come from the local tip, with the bed frame thrown in for free. There was a sink hole in the bed bigger than the sink hole that Moranbah is. Dust covered everything, and the air con was so clogged with it that switching it on sent us into sneezing fits. We went through half a box of antihistamines. I know it's a dusty town, but the room should still be cleaned before someone stays in it. I don't recommend this at all. Stay somewhere nice in Mackay and drive the 2 hours to get there. 0/5 stars.

The manager was very nice and refunded our money, saying she was having problems with the cleaning service. We paid for 2 nights, but when we arrived my wife checked the bed, as she always does, and found the sheets unmade. Looking closer, there were pubic hairs on them. Totally disgusting. We had to wait until morning, so I turned the sheets over, though it still left us uneasy. Take this as a warning to check the bed on arrival and be smart, take your own pillows.

Natalie at the front desk was friendly and professional when my family and I asked for an early check in on my first visit to Moranbah. She understood our situation and got us the first room available, hours before the official timing. The rooms were really clean and tidy too. Great service, would recommend them 100%.

Sue always helped us get a room when we came by early, and the rooms were neat and clean whenever we returned. My partner Jude and I had a great stay at Direct Hotels for work. Sue was accommodating, as was her cute fur baby dog Mickey, who greeted us every time we saw him. We'd definitely come back next time, and would recommend this as the best hotel in Moranbah!

The quick check in was informative, and it was nice to be welcomed in. The one bedroom apartment had a separate bedroom, plus a kitchen and laundry, which was great to have. Everything was clean and comfortable.
