Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge

We spent three nights at the campground, and that felt like the right amount of time. The lodge staff were so welcoming, friendly and polite, and the drive back there for afternoon cocktails was worth it. Getting in means a 50 km drive off the Gibb with water crossings. None were difficult, but it's a lot of road for a one-night stay. Stay at least three nights. Highly recommended.

The bar has footy on TV, a great musician entertaining everyone, and friendly, engaging staff who make sure guests are enjoying themselves. We booked two nights at Mt Hart's Shady Camp Ground, then added another so we could look around and enjoy the facilities. There's a big grassy area for games, with plenty of trees and a swimming hole right there. The lawn is prickly-free, too. Laundry is free, the water is potable, and the ablutions are ensuite-style. Wifi is available free at the outdoor bar and restaurant. Don't miss this spot. ♡♡♡

The trip out to Twin Flame Falls was the highlight for us. Jay and Asia were just as excited to be there as we were, which made it even better. They'd clearly thought through the music and when we'd leave the falls, so we could get the most from the sunset. That was more than we expected. Our four nights at Mt Hart were one of the best parts of our six-month lap around Australia. We'd done the GRR four times before, but this was our first stay here, and we'll definitely return. The station feels like a little bit of paradise in the middle of nowhere, and the staff are always happy and wonderful. Thanks to the whole team for making those four nights so enjoyable. You're a remarkable crew.
