I stayed in room 1 and would not return, even for free. The cleanliness was appalling: the shower had mould, the carpet was stained, there was thick dust along its edges and the skirtings, and I found hair on the toilet seat. The doona was badly stained, the cup provided had already been used, and even after I asked for a clean one, the lady washed it but it was still dirty, so I cleaned it myself. An old sheet held up with two screws served as a curtain. A cockroach crawled across my face overnight, and ants nested in my CPAP machine. Those are only some of the problems. I also had safety concerns because the balcony railing was loose and wouldn’t support someone leaning on it. The lady didn’t seem concerned and gave me fly spray. Her husband AJ apologised and replaced the linen, but the replacement doona was still stained and the sheets had hair on them. Someone kept entering my room while I was away, for reasons other than emptying bins or replenishing supplies. AJ couldn’t explain why when I raised it. I can honestly say nothing here felt safe or clean.

The building is old, but my room was clean, dog friendly, and came with fresh linen whenever I wanted. I stayed there for a month with my two little dogs. The location was excellent and the price was the best in town, but what stood out most was the two male staff members. My motorhome was at the mechanics, and when I was so ill I couldn’t get out of bed for several days, they offered tea, shopping, help keeping the room clean, and anything else we might need. I’m deeply grateful for their help during such a difficult time for us. I’d recommend this motel.

At $155, this felt very overpriced. The rooms have had a recent renovation, but they’re tiny and barely equipped. There was just a bar of soap, no shampoo or conditioner. The building itself is very old, creaky and run down. I’d even call it a fire trap.

My sister and brother-in-law took one look at the room I’d booked for them for a night and said it was too dirty to stay in. The receptionist wouldn’t refund them.

We were travelling through from Qld in our truck and got caught out, so we needed a very late check-in. They accommodated us, and the room was tidy, really clean and warm despite the cold. It was one of the best-priced places in town. Highly recommend.
