We stayed in a lovely, clean and comfortable king studio overlooking the river, stocked with tea and coffee. Sebastian checked us in and gave outstanding service. Millie and Tee were just as fantastic: bubbly, friendly, efficient and brilliant at their jobs. I hope they’re recognised, because you’d never want to lose staff like them. They even saved me twenty bucks by pointing me to the pub app. I travel around Australia with my family, and this was the best service I’ve ever had. The whole experience was so good I can’t think of a negative, and I’d highly recommend it.

After driving more than 10 hours to get here, we were disappointed to find the sheets dirty. In room RM 19, there was a black substance on one sheet that looked like coal, grease, or who knows what. The bottom sheet had an orange stain, and the doona had a large patch that looked like vomit or something similar. These were hard-to-miss spots, so I’m not sure how they were overlooked. We called the after-hours number, and Mikayla in the bistro was extremely lovely and brought us clean sheets. Everything else was good with no issues, but I’m heavily pregnant and sleeping on linen with unknown stains wasn’t ideal at all.

The river view from the balcony was beautiful, and the room was a great size, modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfy and the linen crisp. The man at check-in was lovely, and we ate well at the pub. Staff were helpful and friendly throughout. Coles, Aldi, Chemist Warehouse and Dan Murphy’s are all very close. Nightcap at Hinterland is a hidden gem, and we’ll be back.

The waterfall shower head was a big highlight for me, and we had a great view from the room. Staff were lovely and the pub food was awesome. The rooms had a really strong soapy smell that got overpowering at times, though I’d still rather that than a bad smell. Beds were comfortable, and there was an excellent selection of biscuits for morning tea or coffee.
