Squid Ink Motel

I'm back again this year for a three-day business trip, and it's been fantastic as always. The location is hard to beat, the staff are efficient and friendly, and the rooms are neat and clean. Comfortable bed and great value for money.

Watching the sunset with a wine or beer here is hard to beat. The view was amazing, and the little motel is a real gem. Rooms were tidy and clean, with everything we needed, including cutlery, crockery, tea and coffee, and a comfy bed. Kevin was awesome, really helpful and accommodating. Breakfast at the onsite restaurant was great, and the local hotel is an easy walk away.

We stayed three days, and the staff were fabulous. I'd booked the wrong room, but the manager was more than happy to move us into a lakeview room for the remaining two nights. My only small suggestion is to have a toaster, ironing board and iron, and hairdryer in every room. They were easy enough to get from reception, though.

The outdoor area right beside the lake was beautiful, peaceful and full of natural scenery. There’s also a restaurant onsite, under separate management, and plenty of facilities nearby. I arrived in a terrible mood after a frustrating trip through Newcastle, with roadworks, awful traffic, ugly streets and shocking wi-fi reception. The warm welcome and a lovely, very clean room had me feeling much better in no time. Thanks Squid’s Ink, you rescued an insane day fast.
