The Albion Hotel

Mum and I stayed 24/2, and on arrival the service was exceptional. Nothing was too much to ask, especially for the short-haired blonde woman and the big guy with a beard. I should’ve gotten their names. All the other staff were fantastic too. We had to change rooms around 9:30 because the TV in room 10 didn’t work. Later, stressed about losing my keys, I asked the guy on duty if they’d been handed in. He snapped that he’d know because it was protocol and he would’ve got a message. At 7:20am I asked Nathan if he could let me into room ten to look for them, since I had to be in Sydney by 10. He said he couldn’t help until he’d finished his morning duties, filling up the ATM and cash machine and bringing down the tills. I’ve never encountered anyone more unhelpful, especially when I was so stressed about my keys. Hospitality isn’t your thing, get another job.

The trivia night here was amazing. The new hostess was such a breath of fresh air, she knew how to make people feel welcome and had an indoor voice. The staff were kind and professional with us. 🙏

I’m writing this with three nights still left of my 14-day stay, at $145.00 per night, while I wait for my vehicle to be freighted from Alice Springs. Things in the accommodation can’t possibly get worse. The head bloke already knows and hasn’t responded, and there’s more. I’ve got the popcorn for these last three nights. A cleaner used a key to enter my room without my knowledge or consent, then walked in on me while I was naked, with a towel draped over me in shock. She took her clothes from the shower stall. I told her three times to get out, but she doubled back, forced her way in, moved my things to wash her hands, and verbally abused me on her way out. Please explain to the cleaners in their own language that this is a no-no. Fawlty Towers aka The Albion.

The Monday pasta night is great, with delicious seafood pasta for $20. I’d highly recommend it. The garlic bread roll was kind of stodgy and could be better, but otherwise it was okay.
