The pillows were so hard and high that we couldn’t use them, so next time I’ll bring my own. There was no BBQ either. It’s a lovely apartment, but air conditioning would have made this a five-star review. There are fans, though it gets very hot in Queensland after walking up all those stairs from the beach. The other apartments have air con, but this one doesn’t.

The main bed was a real letdown, the mattress is very old and uncomfortable. Cleaning was another problem: the apartment was filthy, with serious grime in the kitchen and bathrooms. I told the letting agents Niche about it. It’s a shame, because the setting is lovely, Little Cove beach is so close, and the apartment itself is roomy and well appointed.
