Nomads Noosa Backpackers Hostel

The place felt like a home away from home: clean, comfortable, beautiful and full of good vibes. My friend and I arrived in Noosa without knowing much about the area or where to stay, but Pau helped us right from the beginning. His advice about the accommodation and the area made us feel welcome and kept everything easy and stress-free. Our stay was amazing from start to finish. Couldn’t recommend it more if you’re visiting Noosa. Thanks, Pau, for making our trip so special! ✨☺️

Kaisha at Nomads Noosa is such a beautiful human. She’s hilarious, kind and welcoming without even trying. Her smile could sail a thousand ships, guide lost backpackers home and maybe solve world peace before checkout. And those deep brown eyes could calm a storm. If good vibes had a face, it’d be Kaisha’s. 😍

The Fraser Island tour was great, and Hayden was a fantastic guide. The hostel side of things was a mess, though. Check-in took ages, and only at 8pm did staff tell us there was a $20 cash deposit for sleeping bags, plus an extra $7 because I’m from Europe. At 6:30 the next morning, nobody told us where to get the bags or which car to board. My friend and I got into the wrong one before we figured it out ourselves. The kitchen was disgusting, with bugs everywhere and people leaving it uncleaned. Our room was just okay. The washing machine did come with detergent, which was the one nice extra.

It’s a very social place if you’re travelling solo, and the central spot puts the beach and bus stop within a short walk. But the hostel is expensive for what you get. The rooms and shared areas were constantly dirty, and the kitchen is cramped and short on cutlery. Our room had only a small window, while the air conditioning barely worked, so it always felt humid. Many roommates were heading out on the Fraser Island tour, so expect a 5am wake-up most mornings.
