Woongarra Motel

Our family used to stay here every year, and the rates were always affordable, even at Christmas. Since the motel changed hands, the new owners have raised prices a lot without offering anything more. The rooms seem less clean now, if anything. It’s a shame. Our family won’t be back.

We recently booked the whole motel for a family reunion. The place was lovely, clean and fresh, with a perfect outdoor area. Natalie was a fantastic host. Would absolutely recommend it 👌

I can’t believe how we were treated. We usually make a point of supporting small businesses, but this owner came across as money hungry and completely lacking in compassion. Our daughter had a medical emergency and had to be rushed to hospital. We gave 26 hours’ notice, then tried to rebook for a couple of days later once we were out of hospital. We were basically told “too bad.” They kept our $489 and wouldn’t put any of it toward another room, even though there was plenty of space available. It felt like money was all that mattered, even while our family was going through a nightmare with our child. The whole thing felt transactional and pretty gross. We won’t be back. Find somewhere that cares about its guests.

We had a really upsetting experience. Our daughter had a medical emergency and was rushed to hospital, so we gave 26 hours’ notice and asked to postpone our stay by a couple of nights. We were happy to keep our payment with them and cover any extra cost for a different room if one was available. An employee confirmed that the room we couldn’t use had already been filled that night, so they had been paid twice for it. Even so, the owner wouldn’t offer any flexibility or credit toward a later stay. Given what had happened, the lack of compassion was extremely disappointing.
