The police eventually came after we called at 11:45pm, arriving at 1:15am. They apparently felt sorry for us but said the carpet cleaners had to earn a living, like road crews, and also cleaned the Watchhouse. Before that, cleaners in the adjacent AUSTRALIAN Governments Department of Human services had been working until 2:00am, with indoor noise above 85 dba. A generator/compressor was running in the outside car park about 30m away. Then train horns woke us in the early hours, sounding as if they were coming through the back door. It felt like being in Super 8. So much for House rule 1 about noise and respecting the community. If you want to party in Orange, apparently just say you're carpet cleaners and making a mess so you can clean it.

The beds were comfortable, and the place was clean with tasteful decor. It was also an easy walk to everything we needed, and the directions for getting in were simple to follow.
