Seafront Holiday Park Kangaroo Island

The three queen beds kept our two kids very happy, and the place was close to the supermarket and the penguins. We even managed to make a good handball court. Sleep wasn’t great for me, though: the outside light by our bedroom window flickered all night, and the ensuite toilet had an audible leak.

I booked a sea-view room 12 months ahead and paid $445.00 for two nights, hoping to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony looking over the ocean. Instead, all I could see was a shrub. Make sure they don’t put you in room#1, or try booking somewhere else. It’s a 2 star hotel charging 4 star prices.

The beachfront setting and lovely view were the best parts, with everything we wanted to explore close by and the Penneshaw pub even closer. Parking was easy, right beside the rooms, with straightforward access to the hotel. The room was clean and well stocked, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The front desk staff were amazing, too, informative and knowledgeable.

The location is fantastic, and for a basic stopover it wasn’t too bad. The rooms are showing their age, the washer dryer was faulty, and the beds were average.
