Davidsons Cottage

Leolla made our stay easy from the start, even adjusting our dates around covid19 restrictions and letting our daughters sleep on camp mattresses in the living room. She also shared lots of suggestions for food and things to do, which helped make our holiday great. The cottage itself won us over as soon as we stepped inside. It has a cosy, romantic feel, a lovely wood fire smell, beautiful wallpaper and art, and real heritage character that fits its National Trust listing. There are thoughtful comforts throughout, so it feels practical as well as special. Outside, the street and surroundings are gorgeous, and we were greeted by the alpaca and local cat. Across the road, Trust volunteers maintain other cottages as an open museum, and guests can visit at their own pace and use the herb garden for cooking in exchange for a donation. We’ll definitely come back as a Melbourne stopover. There’s plenty more to explore nearby, including future food experiences. Can't wait!
