The meals were good and most of us enjoyed them, though the Garlic Prawn dish needed more prawns and garlic, two of its main ingredients. The other dishes had good flavour, and there was plenty of free parking. It’s an average pub price, which feels high next to pubs with table service when you have to do the work yourself. The menu is good and the staff are friendly, but there’s no table service. The entrance is a bit steep for anyone with mobility issues, and the door is difficult with wheels.

The upstairs room was warm and very clean, with a great shower and strong water pressure. It’s an old building, but clearly well looked after, and I loved its history and gorgeous appearance. We had a lovely Saturday night here. The hotel feels cozy by the open fire, the drinks were great, and the food was amazing. Staff were so kind and accommodating, and the other patrons were friendly too. We’ll be back soon to relax by the fire and watch the footy. :)

What a well preserved piece of history. This art deco building is a real treasure, with superb finishes and fitout inside and out. It deserves to be heritage listed. I had a great day seeing it.

The menu isn’t large, but the food was very good quality and the portions were generous. Bar staff were friendly and down to earth, and the young manager was polite, articulate, and very professional for his age. For the price, I’d highly recommend it as good value.

The garden is lovely, with a path down to the river, and the staff were great. They had the Carlton game on, which made it perfect. Food and drinks are well priced, and there’s accommodation too. I’ll definitely come back.
