Lodestar Waterside Apartments

Avoid this place. It was the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in: a disgusting dump with a stink and filthy, stained carpet. Furniture was broken, some power points and lights didn't work, the front door lock was missing, and handles were missing from some kitchen drawers.

Even one night here felt too long. The rooms were filthy and service was nonexistent. Remotes were broken, paint was chipped everywhere, and the key return slot didn't work. Hinges were coming off both the master bedroom door and the entrance lock door.

We had to leave early because staying there became impossible. On the third morning, the circuit board switches started flickering and then the power went out completely. When we called, they said they couldn't do anything because it was a public holiday. The apartment was noisy every night. The other units on our floor appeared to be privately owned and were used for loud parties. The hotel's signs said quiet hours were 11 pm to 7 am, but the noise kept going. The after-hours emergency number was useless, and things got so bad we called the police to file a noise complaint. Parking was another problem. Our booking email clearly said free parking was included, but there was no designated space for the unit. When we called the after-hours number again, they just told us to use visitor parking. That felt misleading and unacceptable. The balcony was being renovated and completely blocked off with hazard tape, so we couldn't use it. It seemed like a safety violation. The air conditioning unit was badly rusted and so loud we couldn't use it after the second day. From start to finish, this was an unsafe, noisy, misleading and poorly managed stay. The worst accommodation experience I've had. An absolute dump, avoid it.

When we went for a hot shower, there was poo smeared on the shower wall. I told them, but they made me feel as if I'd done it just because they said it had never happened before. They didn't apologise or make any extra effort to be good hosts. I also wasn't told about the $200 bond until we were getting the keys, even though we'd already paid $1300 for the stay and the booking never mentioned a bond. There was no guest Wi-Fi either. I wouldn't spend my money here again.
