Nautica Residences Hillarys

The bedrooms could really use air conditioning. We were in Perth through a spell of days above 38 degrees, and the third floor rooms got very hot with only ceiling fans. It would also have been helpful to have basics like salt and pepper. That aside, we had a very enjoyable stay in fairly basic accommodation. The lovely team at Nautica helped us with a last minute booking, which we really appreciated. It’s a great spot for beaches, restaurants and playgrounds if you’re travelling with family.

The room felt like a cage, with no view and a balcony overlooking the alley, the backs of restaurants, traffic, bins and trolleys. Noise from all of that continued through the night. Inside, the room was old, smelly and very hot, with no ventilation. We expected far better and won’t return. I do not recommend it. For all four nights of our stay, construction was going on right outside our room, grinding and redoing the hotel tiles. Work started at 6.30am, with no consideration for guests. We couldn’t sleep or relax the whole time. I complained, but nothing was done. It was unacceptable after paying good money and travelling 16 hours from home.

We had a comfortable stay with our one year old. The beds were warm and super comfy, and there are lots of restaurants along the boardwalk. The rooms are a little dated, but nicely styled, with comfortable couches and what we needed when travelling with a child. Great value for money, and we’d stay again.

The harbour view was lovely, and the secure basement parking felt adequate. We also felt safe in the building, and the location made it fairly easy to explore the west and north of Perth. Our room had everything for a comfortable stay, including a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. The downsides were some pubic hair left in the bathtub and just one fan coil unit in the living room. In June, during winter, it took a while to warm the rooms.
