Perth Ascot Central Apartment Hotel

I had a lovely two-day stay. I had to cancel my flight home on the morning I was meant to leave, and was stressed about finding somewhere to stay and arranging another flight. Finding this place really helped me settle down. The two balconies were lovely for sitting out at sunset, and the gardens are so pleasant and clearly well maintained. The landscapers do a great job. I was amazed by the bathroom amenities. I hadn't expected a washer dryer, shower and bathroom items, or even shaving cream. The noise was fine for me, though maybe living in Sydney has made me used to it. I slept with the door slightly ajar and still slept in. The receptionist was lovely, and I can't fault anything. Next time I'll book for longer instead of on a whim. Thanks, I'll be back! 104B :)

I booked a studio apartment overnight through Expedia, but the receptionist said the reservation had come through Agoda. That worried me because my past bookings with Agoda hadn't gone well. I paid a $200 security deposit by bank card and am still waiting for the money back. The receptionist had said it would be returned once staff started at 7am on checkout day. When I called to ask about it, reception couldn't find my reservation or any record of our stay. She asked for the room number, then read out a name and asked if it was my husband's. I told her I was travelling with my son, not my husband. A man with an Indian accent interrupted and introduced himself as the manager. He gave me my booking reference and said the deposit would be returned in 3-5 business days. When I asked why my reservation wasn't showing in their database, he waved me off and said, “some girls DON'T KNOW about these bookings.” I've always found decent hotels and holiday accommodation professional and accountable, so hearing this from someone in management was disturbing. I called again today. The same man told me to contact my bank because they had “released the hold” and the transaction would “disappear” from my statement. But my bank said there was no transaction on file, including no hold from this business. While I was waiting to complete our room details, another guest checked in and offered the receptionist $200 cash for her deposit. Nobody offered me that option. Hospitality standards clearly seem to vary from one guest to another. I contacted ACCC to make a formal complaint. I intend to take this as far as I can with the Australian Federal Police, the West Australian Police, and any Perth regulator that cares about business service and commerce standards. I don't think people like this should be allowed to operate without knowing Australian standards and practices. It affects the city, the state and eventually the country. Authorities in Perth need to wake up: there are disreputable elements in your beautiful city. Weed them out, I say, and send them packing. Anyone up for a class action lawsuit?

The grounds were beautiful, with a lovely spa and a great pool that added to the holiday feel. The apartment was spotless and had everything I could have needed, so the stay was comfortable and hassle-free. Staff were very friendly and attentive, ready to help whenever I needed something. Getting around was easy too, with local attractions and transport close by. It was a very pleasant place to relax, and I'd definitely recommend it for a convenient getaway.

Cockroaches in our room, and when we tried reception, nobody answered the phone or was at the desk. We asked for a refund and were told we hadn't used the proper channels to contact reception when they weren't available or answering calls. I've been trying to reach them for a week without a response. The service was disgusting. It feels like they don't want to take responsibility for a poorly maintained place. I wouldn't stay here even if I were paid to. Do better.
