The room was roomy and comfortable, with a great bed and pillows, and we enjoyed the ocean view throughout our stay. The staff we met were all friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely. We felt looked after, and would happily come back. We were at Rendezvous for the second and final night of a two-night stay, celebrating our daughter's birthday. A birthday note, complimentary chocolates, and a bottle of wine were thoughtful surprises that made it feel special. The kids also loved their goodie bag, with a beach hat, lollies, and an adventure passport that included free ice cream. The breakfast buffet was a highlight. I hadn't expected much and only booked it for one morning, but after trying it, I added breakfast for our second morning too. It was worth it, with a good selection of fresh food and a pancake station the kids especially loved. The parking area smelled unpleasant, and some parts of the bathroom and toilet felt a little dated. Still, those minor drawbacks didn't take away from a lovely family birthday getaway.

16/02/2026 Hi Nikol P, So, thanks for the feedback, but once you've got customers booking and their money, you don't give two hoots!!! As I said before, I've told family and friends in Perth and Melbourne about the lack of empathy, and trust me, word is spreading. I expected a higher calibre of service. We stayed at the Rendezvous in Perth last week and got home on 31 January. The area is fantastic, and the hotel's location is great, but the stay fell well short of what we expected. Renovations left the property without much atmosphere. Front-of-house staff seemed disengaged, and service was average at best. It was summer, and we were surprised to find there was no pool or outdoor area available. The complimentary passes were for a public pool, which wasn't an acceptable substitute. We didn't pay to use a public facility while on holiday, and no meaningful goodwill gesture was offered. Renovating such an important amenity during peak season was especially frustrating. After talking with family and friends in Perth and Melbourne, I know they were just as disappointed and surprised that the hotel offered no goodwill. Many said they'd look elsewhere, and I expect the word will spread. When we next visit Perth, we'll book somewhere else, which is a shame given the fantastic area. We expected better service, communication, and quality from a hotel of this calibre.

Scarborough is lovely, but I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel at the moment. We spent four nights there. The location was excellent, only a few steps from the beach, restaurants, and cafes. Parking had plenty of spaces and a discounted rate, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We didn't know there was no pool until we arrived. We'd booked through a third party and thought the pool photos were current. The passes they gave us were for a busy public lap pool. The shower also flooded; after we reported it, cleaners said it wasn't their responsibility. I expected them to tell maintenance and clean up, and it made the hotel feel like a budget experience. We also assumed the sparkling water left out on the bench, outside the fridge, was complimentary. It turned out we'd been charged $18.

The pool was closed for renovations during summer, a decision that reflects poorly on management. Renovations also left the hotel without much atmosphere, and the front desk staff could learn to smile. Service was average. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the climate control worked well, but the room was dated and needed work. The toilet was dodgy, the shower door wouldn't close and flooded the floor, and the bidet didn't work. The balcony felt like a waste of space, with no furniture to enjoy the great view. It had a lock on the door, and I couldn't see who needed keeping out 25 floors up. The gym was poor, old, and missing weights. The area is great, but when we return we'll definitely look elsewhere.

The room service food was tasty, especially the Wagyu burger, and the provided body and hair soaps and moisturisers were nice. We also had a good view, with half the beach toward Hilary's and Scarborough's new developments in sight. I'm a local and booked a couple of nights to see Scarborough from a different perspective. I'd stay again, but I'd want to confirm a proper double bed, a sunset view, and a top-floor room first. I paid extra for an ocean view, but sadly couldn't see the sunset from my balcony. I'd recommend asking for a sunset view. The booking said double bed and I paid for a couples room, but it was two single beds pushed together. It was uncomfortable because you sink between them. The ironing board was broken, its leg welds rusted and snapped. The shower hose was damaged and leaked, and the TV wouldn't let me use HDMI, which was annoying at night before bed. Room service food is highly priced. Only one escalator worked, from the Scarborough entrance, and the main entrance was closed for renovations. The pool was also shut for renovations.
