Donna was really helpful and kept her promise of giving me a room with a balcony and not many steps. We enjoyed sitting outside in the comfy chairs, though the curlews got a bit too friendly. The Islander is older than some places but well maintained, with lovely gardens and a pool. Our apartment was clean, spacious and reasonably priced, and the location was good. We spent four nights there and can thoroughly recommend it. We’ll come back one day.
We had a relaxing stay and are already planning another trip. The Islander Holiday Resort was clean, quiet and well kept, with plenty of activities. It’s close to amenities and within walking distance of the Straddie Hotel. Straddie Eats is just 180m away and does excellent coffee. Highly recommended, and thanks, Donna!
We’ve been back to the Islander every year for more than 10 years, and it’s a delight each time. The apartments are spacious and well maintained, and you can walk to everything, with Home Beach just across the road. The kids love the basketball hoop and tennis court, and we all enjoy the pool. Donna, the manager, responds quickly to requests or issues and keeps everything running beautifully. I can’t imagine giving up our annual visit!
Donna was so nice to deal with and really accommodating. We loved our stay over the 26 Jan long weekend and would definitely return. Everything we needed was close by, the rooms were clean and well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The pool and BBQ area were great too.
This was our second stay in two years. It’s a timeless beach resort with lovely architectural details, and the apartment was spacious and airy. Our son left his bag behind, and Donna, one of the employees, brought it back to us on the ferry. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
