Matt greeted us when we arrived and was so warm and friendly. The next day we met Lisa, who was just as welcoming. They had lots of useful tips about what to do and where to go, even suggesting which beach suited the wind. The room was beautiful, clean and fully equipped, with ocean views. The gardens were neat and well cared for, and the pool and BBQ area were spotless too. Samarinda is an easy walk from the beaches, shops and walking tracks, and it was a fantastic base for exploring the island. We’ll definitely return soon. Thanks for a great stay! 🤩

Lisa and Matt were great hosts, with loads of knowledge about the island and helpful advice for our daily outings. After more than 40 years away from Straddie, I was really impressed by our stay at Samarinda jewel by the sea. The rooms were immaculate and well equipped, the water views were fabulous, and the gardens, pool and BBQ area were beautifully maintained. Everything was so well looked after. I’d highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

My friend and I spent a few nights on straddie and had such a wonderful stay. Matt and Lisa were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was clean, and the gorgeous views were hard to beat. With the beach just steps away, the location was great. Couldn’t have asked for more!

The balcony views from the room were breathtaking, and most places were within walking distance. The staff made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. I came to Australia for a short trip but added extra time here because it felt so magical. Stradbroke island was gorgeous, and I felt lucky to visit. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough! I was here in October 2025.

The view of Main Beach from the apartment was stunning, and the rooms were clean, with a spacious kitchen and living area. For all six days, Matt and Lisa took care of anything we needed. Matt welcomed us with a smile as soon as we drove into Samarinda and helped us find our parking spot, which was a lovely start to the holiday. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place, and their hospitality made it feel like home. I’d definitely stay at Samarinda again.
