Big4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park

A safe, family friendly place with helpful staff who know the area and can offer ideas for adventures. The rates were really affordable for both caravan sites and self contained units. There’s a magnesium pool for adults, a big pool for kids, and a huge barbecue and kitchen right beside the pool. A great base for exploring Queensland.

We’re here for a week in our caravan, and this little park has been one of the best we’ve stayed at. The staff have made us feel so welcome, and there are treasure hunts for the kids and free sausage sizzles. The toilets and showers are always spotless. It’s a warm, kind place, and being a little outside town keeps it quiet with little traffic. We’ll definitely come back.

We’ve just wrapped up our second visit and already booked another stay for later this year. It’s a real gem away from the bustle of downtown HB, and I can’t fault it. Craig, the manager, is awesome, the owners are fantastic, and the permanent residents are top notch. They’re all happy to help with anything. The amenities are older style for now, but upgrades are underway. Keep it up, guys. You’ve got a guest for as long as I can travel!

We booked six nights but left after two and found somewhere else. The owners are building a new house right out front, so the place looks like a construction site. The bathrooms and toilets were in awful condition, and even after the 8:30 a.m. clean there was no real difference. The camp kitchen was dirty, old and felt unsafe. The pool had no shade, and the games room was closed and moved to a tin shed with no fans, which isn’t ideal in summer. There was nothing for the kids to do on site. I know it’s a small Big 4 and not a typical one, but the price is like staying at a normal Big 4, which was very disappointing. It’s two minutes from the beach, but expect to take lots of day trips because there’s nothing to do there. We won’t stay again and wouldn’t recommend it for children.
