Brokenback Views Country Estate

It was a pleasure staying here, especially on such short notice over a weekend. The atmosphere and scenery made for a relaxed Hunter getaway. You'll need a car to get around, though the little outback track at the entrance was fun. It gets really, really dark at night, with no illumination apart from the sidewalk, so bring a flashlight. Still, it's a great place.

We loved spending most evenings on the balcony with a glass of wine, watching the beautiful sunset. The place was very clean, modern and a lovely spot for a romantic getaway, with a great location and beautiful views. Thank you, we'd definitely stay again soon!

We went in with low expectations after a disappointing stay at a slightly cheaper place down the road. Brokenback Views Country Estate cost only a little more, and we worried the photos might be flattering and the actual room substandard. We were very wrong. The rooms were clean and beautifully set up, with art and Hampton’s style ceilings. The quiet, private setting was a huge part of the appeal. The rooms sit well away from the road. It is a little way down from the Broke/McDonald road roundabout, but not far by car. With the city feeling far away and manicured lawns all around, it felt like another world. We saw just one couple during our stay, and they were out all day. There were no staff around, which added to how private it felt. The little luxuries were impressive too: Reidel glassware, Lurpak butter, Nespresso coffee, fancy tea bags in pyramid teabags, Jurlique toiletries, 4-ply toilet paper and bathroom air freshener. The kitchen had everything for preparing meals, including properly sharp cutting knives. I could go on. The standard was so much better than we expected that we chose to stay at the house instead of going to the wineries. The property literally nextdoor has the 2022 Cellar door of the year and a cheese shop. A fantastic experience, and we'll stay again.

Waking up to kangaroos by the water in front of our verandah was the highlight. The setting was tranquil and serene, and the charming villas were clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable too. We'd definitely come back.
