The hosts, Nerina and Alastair, were warm and welcoming, and their local knowledge helped make our Valentine’s weekend even better. Their suggestions for restaurants, vineyards and local businesses were much appreciated. Breakfast arrived at our door each morning in a charming wicker basket, a lovely touch. The Carriages is even more beautiful in person than its already inviting Airbnb photos suggest. It’s set among green grounds and a pretty rose garden, and having tea on the terrace was so relaxing. Spotting kangaroos and bunny rabbits added to the evening’s charm. The place feels genuinely romantic, and we had a very pleasant stay. We’d gladly return and recommend it for a romantic getaway.

We couldn’t have picked a better place for our wedding weekend. Our closest guests stayed with us at The Carriages, where the relaxed grounds were a welcome place to unwind before and after the celebration. The rooms had lovely appointments, open fires and country charm, making the stay memorable for us and our guests. Nerina and her husband were warm and attentive hosts, and everyone felt welcome.

We first visited three years ago from the UK and fell in love with the place, thanks in no small part to Nerina and Alistair and the care they put into making a stay memorable. We’ve now returned, and they once again made us feel incredibly welcome. They clearly love hosting, and nothing was too much trouble. The Carriages is delightful, with really peaceful surroundings. We’d highly recommend staying here in the Hunter Valley, and no doubt we’ll be back again.

The property has lovely birdlife, a nice little pool, and it was great being able to play tennis. Alistair and Nerina were charming. We were the only guests, so it was very quiet. A delightful spot.

Rose Bank cottage was such a beautiful place for our weekend. The property is gorgeous and wonderfully relaxing, and the hosts were lovely. I’d definitely recommend it and would stay again when I get the chance.
