The courtyard is private and peaceful, a lovely place to shut yourself away. There's a fun outdoor shower, bath, hammock, patio, and roomy living space with a large sofa, decent TV, equipped kitchen, big shower, and comfortable bed. They provide lots of extras too, like robes, mosquito coils, bug spray, and bath salts, more than you'd get at an average hotel. On site there's laundry, a shared BBQ, a reasonably priced honesty bar, a clean pool, and a games space with pool and table tennis. Games, DVDs, and books are available too. It's an easy 20-minute walk to the centre, and the beach is also an easy walk, cutting through opposite the Vietnamese place. Staff were friendly and let us check out a little later. Some areas are a bit tired, which is reflected in the price. If you want shiny new accommodation, this may not suit. It reminded me of a rustic Balinese villa, beautiful, colourful, and very tropical.

We stayed 11 nights and had a lovely time. The villa was clean, spacious, and had private gardens and an outdoor bath, though we didn't use it. The resort was quiet and secluded, and I loved that dogs were allowed, even though we couldn't bring ours since we flew from Melbourne. The pool and gardens were amazing. TV reception was sometimes poor, but that wasn't the resort's fault. Hope we can come back.

If you're lucky enough to have a dog, this is the very best place to stay in FNQ with your best friend. It's very clean, and the boys who run PINK FLAMINGO are so nice, friendly, and helpful. Do yourself a favour and stay there, you won't be disappointed.

The villas are bright, airy, and welcoming, with everything provided, from beach towels and robes to cold water in the fridge. The pool was another treat, and the staff and owners have such a kind, gentle, easygoing manner. They welcomed our dog and let her be part of the holiday. PINK FLAMINGO is a real treasure and a perfect base for a Port Douglas holiday. The fees are very reasonable for the extensive provisions and beautiful grounds. We can't wait to come back.

Bright, colourful, boho-inspired, and laid-back, this was a fun place to stay in Port Douglas. It felt more authentic than the more sterile McMansion hotels. Great location, and having our own courtyard with an outdoor shower and bath was a treat.
