The grounds had lots of wildlife and were beautifully kept, with plenty of on-site activities for the family. There were several places to eat without driving, and a bottle shop was only a few minutes' walk away. Check-in was friendly and easy, and the secure parking was close to our unit. It was clean and well appointed, with comfortable beds and a modern TV that connected to YouTube and let us sign in to our own streaming service. We'd definitely stay again.

Port Macquarie is beautiful, but there are much better places to stay. The apartments are extremely dated, and even the poor-quality kitchen utensils included a frying pan we couldn't use. The pool was listed as heated, but it was freezing. By the second day we'd run out of toilet paper and detergent, and were told to buy our own. The manager was unfriendly and unhelpful, and the DVD player didn't work. We wouldn't recommend staying here. On a positive note, the staff at Breakwater Caravan Park were fantastic, friendly, helpful, and professional. Highly recommend staying there instead!

The fridge didn't work properly because a huge buildup of frost was blocking the air vent. Our ice cream melted, and after the ice cube tray had been in the freezer for two nights, the water was only slightly cold, so we couldn't make ice for our bottles. We told the accommodation about the problem and the inconvenience, but got no reply for 10 days. I'm very disappointed, and hope the guests after us didn't have the same trouble. The apartment itself was spacious and well equipped, with a full kitchen, small dishwasher, and a roomy bathtub. It's right across from the beach. Just be aware that guests have to take out their rubbish and clean the kitchen equipment and dishes before checkout, or start the dishwasher. Rooms near reception are next to a pub, and when we visited around 7 p.m. on Friday, the music stayed loud until about 11.

The apartment was roomy and comfortable, with a great pool, plenty of parking, and a good spot near Flynns Beach and local eateries. But for $500 a night, I expected the essentials to be included. There were only two toilet paper rolls for our family of four, and we had to pay extra for additional items. Some amenities also didn't work, and nothing was resolved during our stay. It felt unnecessarily stingy for the price, so we wouldn't come back.

For what we paid, the place was okay, but the pools weren't very clean. There are no lifts, and getting to a third-floor room means climbing 50 stairs. There's not even a ramp for prams. With an elderly parent, you'd be stuck, and carrying luggage up to the third floor was so hard. I wouldn't recommend it or visit again.
