The rooftop terrace is half decent, and the location is the only other good thing about this hostel. Rooms are tiny, untidy, and smell, and the bathroom isn’t pleasant either. The mattresses were ripped, the linen seemed unwashed, and the carpet was dirty. If you just need somewhere to pass out after drinking a lot, I’d recommend it. If you want a good night’s sleep after a big night, stay away.
The Dlux hostel is a mess. Cockroaches are everywhere, and the kitchen is a dump, with every pan dirty when you go to use it. After I returned my key card, reception refused to give back my $20 key deposit. When I asked about it, the girl laughed at me. Save your money for somewhere better, like the Funkhouse across the street. It’s at least clean, and they don’t scam you.
Worst hostel I’ve stayed in in Australia. The kitchen hadn’t been cleaned in 10 days and was disgusting, and there were cockroaches in the bedroom.
Cheap and convenient, and a good place to stay. Better than plenty of more expensive places!
