Pottsville itself is a great place to stay, and if you’re heading to Byron, I’d turn around and stop here. The motel rooms are fresh smelling, exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The decor mixes a beachy retro feel with simple modern touches, and the clear windows and screens and smoothly working fixtures show how carefully it’s looked after, despite the size of the place and its closeness to the beach. On arrival, the management were friendly, experienced and knew the local area well. The car spaces are assigned by room, which works well for most rooms.

On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a family unit. The room was spacious, bright and lovely, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s quiet and private, with a decent-sized fridge and fast internet. The beach, river and coffee shops are all a short stroll away. I’m also loving the relaxed, beachy vibe here 😃

A fabulous beach is just a short walk away, and there’s a nice pool on site too. Our unit was such a delight, spacious, clean, smart and comfortable.

After Christmas, this was a lovely place for a little family holiday. It’s in an outstanding spot, two blocks from the beach and a short walk from restaurants and cafes. The room was clean and smelled good when we arrived, the aircon worked really well, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom had been renovated nicely, and even the towels were fluffy. We also enjoyed the pool, which was very clean and well maintained, with a lovely garden. It’s a good size at 10x4m. My only reason for not giving five stars for everything is the room’s very small television.
