The room was spacious, clean and modern, with everything we needed. We especially liked the big window, good lighting, couch and generous desk space. The staff were really welcoming, and the stay was excellent value, with a discount at the pub too. We even won the meat raffle! The pub was pleasant and the food was good for the price. We’ll stop here again on our trips east.

We’ve visited many times and usually enjoyed the meals, so yesterday was a real letdown. The pepper gravy tasted like chemicals, though I’m not sure what had been done to it, and I couldn’t eat the meal. There didn’t seem to be any staff around to tell, so we left feeling pretty disheartened. Also, asking someone for ID halfway through a drink is a bit late if they were meant to be checked.

The other players were lovely, and we made a lot of friends through the weekly Wednesday trivia nights at the Top Pub in Morwell. Nick was a great host, with Renae filling in on the odd night he couldn’t make it. They’re a big part of why we kept coming back. I’ve always felt safe there and never seen any trouble. Thanks as well to the bar staff for being cheerful and friendly while taking orders and serving meals. The chefs handle getting food out to so many people professionally. The staff were awesome, and the food was really good. I had the chicken Parm with chips and salad from the $15 lunch menu, plus garlic bread with cheese. It was my first visit, but I’ll be back. I’d recommend it.

Kate was friendly and helpful when she checked us in. We also got complimentary welcome drinks and 20% off meals, and the service was great. The room decor was good and the room was clean. The bed felt too soft for me personally, though. As a side sleeper, I tend to sink into it too much.
