The birds can be a nuisance, but having quokkas under your table is something I won’t forget. It’s a lovely place to sit with a drink and look over the bay. It isn’t the cheapest, though $50 for a bottle of prosecco isn’t too bad, and the food looked good. Bike hire is a must. We had to walk a bit, but I still don’t regret skipping the electric bikes.

The waterfront setting is great, with quokkas all around, though it gets very busy. Service and atmosphere were both good. The food was fine, but not memorable, and the desserts were very average. It felt pricey for what we got, even allowing for island prices. The drinks were the best bite, and the serving sizes could probably be better for the cost. If you want more of a restaurant feel instead of quick food, Hotel Rottnest is probably your best bet. I probably wouldn’t return for a meal, though I might go back for drinks and the views.

After a full day cycling, we loved stopping for a few beers here. It’s a beautiful spot overlooking the bay and full of quokkas, definitely a good place to see them. Just remember, island prices are what you’d expect.

Really tasty food, plenty of drink choices, and a brilliant ocean view. The service was friendly too. Don’t let the other reviews put you off, it’s a great place for a feed and a drink. I’m nearly done with this beer and reckon I’ll get another!

The beachside pub has one of the best vibes around, legendary really. It works for a meal or a drink at any time of day when you’re on Rotto time and looking at that view. The crab and prawn roll was tasty, and I’d highly recommend the ice cream sandwich. Special cocktails are next door, and the DJ is pretty adventurous. At the beach front tables, don’t drop food or the seagulls will show up and stick around, which gets annoying. Order and pay at the counter. If you’re in a group, get there before the lunch or dinner rush to secure a table. Maybe bring mozzie spray for the evening.
