There’s a lot of potential here, and the location is beautiful, but the resort feels seriously neglected. Our room was the worst of it: cigarette butts in a bottle on the balcony, a yellow-stained quilt, and no lift to the second floor, which could be hard for older guests, families, or anyone with mobility issues. The carpets smelled bad, the beds were uncomfortable, and several advertised facilities weren’t working. The place made a ghost-town impression as soon as we arrived for a family function. Some buildings had boarded windows, the swings were missing, the play equipment was rusty, and the basketball hoop had toppled over. The bar was disappointing too. They’d run out of basic alcoholic drinks and glasses, and staff didn’t seem to know the usual drink options. One person kept brushing off requests and rolling his eyes, which made things uncomfortable. We did have a lovely time together as a family, but that doesn’t change how poor the accommodation and facilities were. With maintenance, staff training, and investment, this could be a fantastic place. As it is, it felt neglected, like a bad episode of faulty towers.

The cove and the surrounding scenery are incredible, and the place has good bones. Our room was clean and comfortable, though a bit dated. There were hardly any other guests, and the quiet, unused feel showed in parts of the property. It was like arriving in Jurassic Park. I really hope the new owner can make it work, because this place is too good to leave abandoned.

We only lasted one night before leaving for Links. There were holes in our room wall, the fridge was rusty, and the electricals didn’t seem safe. The whole place felt dark, dingy, broken, and dirty, and we didn’t feel safe there at all. There was no staff around, reception never opened, and neither did the restaurant. It seemed like only a few other guests were staying. Accor needs to lift this place fast. It could be brilliant and wouldn’t take much, but it looks like no investment has gone into it.

The outlook over the golf course is nice, and you’re close to nature. It’s outdated, but the place was tidy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and seemed to be doing the best they could with what they have.

Staff were amazing, and the food was great. In January, dinner had an amazing Chinese menu, though now it’s just normal meals. We’re fine with this place and will come back. We stayed in January this year, so we knew what the rooms were like. When my partner asked whether there was a microwave in the room, they upgraded us to a golf-front room. It came with a little kitchen and laundry across the hall, which was very convenient with an 8-month-old.
