Silverwater Resort

The food was delicious, and the coconut kheer was the best of it all. From arrival, the staff at Silver Water Resorts were warm, welcoming and professional. The rooms were spotless, spacious and beautifully designed, with a good mix of comfort and luxury. We enjoyed the stunning views and top-notch facilities, from the pool to the dining options. Every detail seemed thoughtfully planned for a relaxing, memorable stay. I enjoyed every moment and highly recommend SilverWater Resorts for a peaceful getaway and exceptional service.

The location is fantastic, with sweeping views. Facilities were okay, including a great jumping pillow for kids and an adequate heated indoor pool. Sam at the bar was friendly, engaging and fun to be around. Breakfast was adequate, worth exactly $33, though disappointing that coffees weren’t included. The rooms, however, are very tired, with worn carpets and furniture and terrible window coverings. Restaurant service was disjointed. Simple requests left us confused and wondering if I was the problem, and this happened three or four times during our stay. The outdoor pool wasn’t heated and sat at 22 degrees, too cold to enjoy even in peak summer. Restaurant food was below pub quality at restaurant prices. Staff seemed to rush around all day and night in ratty old service vehicles that spoiled the resort feel. Seeing clean linen loaded into a dirty Ssangyong Ute or old Falcon wagon didn’t suggest luxury. Whoever manages this resort needs to take a hard look at things and update the rooms. The place has huge potential, but management seems to be pinching pennies. Would I stay again? No, not for what we paid.

Our 1 bedroom appartment was clean and had everything two people could need: 2 balconies, a queen bed, 2 TVs, washing machine, dryer, large fridge, iron and cooking utensils. We really enjoyed the indoor pool, spa and outdoor pool. Customer service was fantastic. I had an accident with a chair at breakfast, and by midday every restaurant chair had been replaced. I was blown away by how professionally it was handled. Deb was absolutely outstanding with our situation, and the new green chairs were very comfortable. The food at Watermark restaurant was fantastic too. The buffet breakfast was fresh, warm and delicious, with plenty of options for different tastes and needs. Lunch and dinner were also delicious, and we enjoyed them very much. The staff were professional and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Big thanks to Deb, Sam and Nihish from Food & Bev, and to Soner at reception for being so helpful and professional. They made our stay very enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it.

We stayed four days after booking based on Google reviews suggesting 4-star service, and I was disappointed by how different the reality was. Fresh towels cost $2.50, guests have to empty their own small bins, and every room service request comes with a fee. That seems unreasonable for families with toddlers, who naturally make more mess at meals. The toilet was poorly cleaned: when we washed my toddler’s bottle, soapy water came out through another drain, which felt unhygienic. The room skirtings were dusty and there were many flies or insects when we checked in. A sink blocker cap had been left on top of a drinking glass in the toilet, which suggests poor basic hygiene. The indoor pool had visible moss and wasn’t heated, which was disappointing and concerning. The checkout was the most frustrating part. On departure day I politely asked for a short extension until midday because we were travelling back to Melbourne and I’d mistakenly booked an appointment on the way. I said I was 6 months pregnant and the resort wasn’t fully booked, and asked if we could stay a little longer so I wouldn’t have to wait in the car. The receptionist immediately refused, saying the hotel manager required $25 per hour for any extension. I understand hotels have policies, but given the circumstances, some flexibility or even a one-hour courtesy extension would have helped. There was no consideration at all, leaving a very poor final impression. Instead of a relaxing holiday, I felt disgusted by the service. We’ll never return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to families expecting genuine 4-star service. They should change their name to Silverwater Airbnb.
